Dare to Explore!
For many of us, we get our journal inspiration from outside ourselves. Therefore our work will generally be a little of us and a little of others.
But what if, for 2020, for a new decade, we decide to really explore? This is something I have been inspired to do. It means being brave, standing out and leaping into the unknown!
It also means finding out more about yourself and your truth, and expressing it onto the pages of your journals.
So how do we even begin to explore? Isn't the reason we seek out inspiration from others to get our creative juices flowing?
I was watching an interview of Adam Ant the other day and he said something which relates to this. Talking about the bands sound he shared how he would listen to tribal music (drums and vocal sounds like chanting), and how in the studio he recorded experimental sounds. He said

Get Experimenting!
The theme for this week is Explore! My goal now is to get experimenting. Having what Nancy Hillis calls an attitude of exploration and experimentation. The skies the limit and nothing is off limits. Only we limit ourselves. But how can we experiment? We don't always want to do it in our "Nice journal". So get yourself a journal to play in, to cultivate new ideas. It doesn't matter how out of the box they are. Pick topics that your are drawn to and really break them down. Study the details.
